Mansory Carbon Fiber Body kit set for Mercedes Maybach GLS

MANSORY for the Mercedes-Maybach GLS X167 — Mercedes-Benz's flagship SUV in carbon

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS is, since launch in late 2019, the answer to a question Mercedes had not previously answered: what does a Maybach SUV look like. The Maybach S-Class is the longer-running car — Maybach as a sub-brand of Mercedes-Benz has been built around saloon-format flagship since the badge's 2014 relaunch. The Maybach GLS X167 was the first time Stuttgart treated an SUV as the equal of the Maybach S in chassis sophistication, interior specification and powertrain choice. Mansory's response to that decision is the kit on this page: a full-aggression carbon programme dimensioned to the X167 bodyshell that respects the Maybach two-tone paint signature and the closed-pattern Maybach grille, and that adds visible width and visible aero without diluting the car's chauffeur-and-principal brief.

Sister Maybach and Mercedes flagships in the Hodoor catalogue: Maybach S-Class W223, AMG GT 63 S E Performance, C-Class W204 Restyling. SUV siblings in the Hodoor wide-arch roster: Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Bentley Bentayga 2020, Cadillac Escalade, Tesla Cybertruck.

X167 chassis — what changed for the Maybach SUV

The Maybach GLS shares its X167 chassis with the GLS-Class flagship SUV introduced for Mercedes-Benz in 2019. Wheelbase: 3 135 mm, identical to the GLS. Length: 5 207 mm for the standard GLS / Maybach GLS, with the Maybach treatment concentrated in interior length, ride-quality calibration, soundproofing and the closed-pattern front grille rather than in extended-wheelbase geometry. Suspension: AIRMATIC air suspension as standard, with E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL available — the chassis is a four-corner air-spring system with active anti-roll. Drivetrain: 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive across the range. The Maybach GLS is positioned as Stuttgart's most luxurious SUV — the chauffeur-and-principal brief that Maybach inherits from the S-Class translates here into a rear-cabin programme that reads more like a private jet's aft cabin than like a conventional SUV. Mansory's body kit responds to that brief by amplifying front-and-rear visible aggression while keeping the rear-quarter sidelight geometry and rear-door reveal close to OEM — the rear cabin's natural light and the chauffeur's exit-and-entry choreography are preserved.

Carbon kit — what ships

Hand-laid 2x2 twill weave on visible aerodynamic pieces, PU-RIM composite on the bumpers and the bonded fender extensions (with optional dry-carbon upgrade for the bumpers), painted-carbon finish matched to the OEM body colour as the default — the Maybach paint signature is the kit's principal aesthetic anchor and the carbon work is dimensioned to read as an extension of the body rather than as a contrasting visible-weave overlay. Two-tone paint commissions specify the carbon finish to match the lower-body colour line.

  • Replacement front bumper with revised lower intake apertures, integrated central splitter and front canard pair on the lower outer corners. The Maybach closed-pattern grille is preserved in OEM mounting; the bumper is dimensioned around it.
  • Vented widebody front fenders (+25 mm) with louvre cut-out aft of the wheel arch.
  • Bonded rear-fender extensions (+30 mm) integrated to the OEM door shut-line.
  • Replacement rear bumper with full-width carbon diffuser, vertical fence elements and quad oval exhaust bezels matched to the GLS 600's OEM Maybach exhaust footprint.
  • Carbon vented bonnet with twin functional louvres above the M177 intake plenum.
  • Roof spoiler tuned to the X167 rear-window geometry.
  • Side steps / running boards in carbon, replacing the OEM Maybach electric running-board system. Owners who require the OEM electric running-board ingress assist can specify a carbon overlay on the existing running-board mechanism instead of replacement steps.
  • Mirror caps, kidney-grille frame, front-fender vent inserts as the catalogue trim pack.

M177 4.0 V8 biturbo and the M256 inline-six — covering both engine choices

The Maybach GLS catalogue ships in two principal engine variants. GLS 600 4MATIC — the dominant Maybach SUV in the order book — runs the AMG-developed M177 DE40 AL, a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with 558 hp and 730 Nm, mild-hybrid 48-volt EQ Boost system delivering an additional 22 hp and 250 Nm transient assist, 9-speed AMG Speedshift TCT-9G transmission and 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive. 0-100 km/h: 4.9 seconds. GLS 480 4MATIC (in markets where Maybach SUV is sold with inline-six powertrain) runs the M256 E30 DEH LA G 3.0-litre inline-six biturbo with 367 hp and 500 Nm plus EQ Boost. Both engines accept the Mansory ECU calibration module, quoted as a separate SKU: GLS 600 to approximately 700 hp / 850 Nm with sport-exhaust upgrade; GLS 480 to approximately 440 hp / 580 Nm with calibration alone. The body kit is dimensioned to both engine variants — front bumper intake apertures, cooling ducts and rear apron exhaust bezel positions are common.

Wheels — 24" forged for the Maybach SUV

OEM Maybach GLS wheels run at 22" or 23". The Mansory catalogue is dimensioned around 24" front and rear staggered forged wheels: 295/35 R24 across both axles in the standard fitment, with the option of a 305-section rear shoulder for owners specifying the bonded +30 mm rear flare with a wider wheel-cap offset. Patterns: YN.5 double-Y, FD.16 dual-spoke concave, M.7 classic multi-spoke, with the option of the Maybach-monogram-engraved FV.5 centre-cap finish. Surface options follow the kit's painted-carbon-to-body convention: matched to the lower-body colour on a two-tone Maybach finish, or specified in satin black with diamond-cut contrast spoke for owners running a single-tone donor. Forged catalogue: hodoor.world/collection/forgedwheels. The wheel set carries TÜV documentation against the Maybach GLS 600's kerb weight (approximately 2 720 kg) and the additional load of the optional armoured-glass package where specified by Stuttgart at build.

Where the Maybach GLS Mansory ships

The Maybach GLS X167 order book is the most concentrated of any Mansory SUV programme — the donor is itself heavily concentrated in a small number of geographic clusters, and the Mansory commission tracks the donor.

  • UAE is the single largest geography by a clear margin — both Dubai and Abu Dhabi book GLS 600 commissions in volume, often paired with the matching Maybach S-Class W223 kit on a sister-car commissioned at the same delivery cycle.
  • Saudi Arabia and Qatar follow on similar volume profiles. Royal-family commissions in both markets often request the Mansory paint-to-sample finish to match an existing Maybach S-Class signature colour rather than the standard Maybach two-tone palette.
  • Hong Kong and Singapore serve the Asia-financial cluster; both markets specify the GLS 480 inline-six donor more often than the GLS 600 and order the body kit without the bonded rear flare for a more discreet read.
  • Monaco and the Swiss Alpine corridor ship a smaller but consistent share of European luxury-family commissions, typically ordered alongside a sister Mansory Bentayga or Cullinan in the same garage.
  • Tsar programme serves the CIS lane through closed-network freight routing; the Maybach GLS is the second most-commissioned Mansory SUV in this corridor after the Cullinan.
  • United Kingdom ships through Mayfair-and-Surrey commissions in the Maybach S-and-GLS pair format described above; UK volume on Maybach GLS alone is small but the matched-pair commissions push UK share above its standalone GLS book.

FAQ

Will the kit fit a non-Maybach GLS X167?
Yes for the bumper-and-fender geometry — the standard GLS X167 shares the bodyshell with the Maybach GLS. The Mansory front bumper is dimensioned around the Maybach closed-pattern grille; non-Maybach GLS donors with the open-vane AMG grille require a substitution SKU on the front bumper that supports the open-vane grille opening. Specify the donor's grille pattern at order.

Maybach two-tone paint — how is the carbon finish matched?
Two-tone Maybach donors carry an upper-body colour separated from a lower-body colour by the Maybach belt-line. The Mansory carbon programme is finished by default in the lower-body colour — the bumpers, fender extensions and rear apron sit below the belt-line and the carbon paint follows the lower colour. Owners can specify alternative match-points (upper-body match, accent-colour match) at order.

Does the kit affect Mercedes-Benz's MagicBody / E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL?
No. The kit is body-and-wheels; AIRMATIC and E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL run as factory. The 24" forged wheel set is dimensioned to the OEM rolling circumference within Mansory's engineering tolerance; suspension calibration and ride-height are unaffected.

OEM electric running boards — can the carbon side-step set replace them?
Two options. The carbon side-step set replaces the OEM running-board mechanism entirely, which removes the auto-deploy ingress feature; this is the dominant Gulf-market specification. Alternatively, owners can specify a carbon-overlay finish on the existing OEM electric running boards, preserving the auto-deploy function while picking up the visible-carbon aesthetic. Specify which option at order.

Does the kit fit the Maybach GLS 680 (the BMG Maybach S-Class-aligned trim)?
The body kit fits the X167 bodyshell across all Maybach SUV trims, including specification updates within the X167 generation. Trim-level differences (badging, interior detail, factory wheel size) do not affect the kit's geometry. Specify the trim level at order so the rear-apron exhaust bezel SKU is matched to the donor's actual exhaust outlet count.
