Velour trunk mat - nubuck edging Mansory for Mercedes-AMG S63E

Mansory Velour Trunk Mat Nubuck Ending for Mercedes-AMG S63E

The trunk floor of an S 63 E PERFORMANCE saloon takes a different kind of wear than the cabin footwell does. Cabin mats see foot-pressure abrasion at predictable points; trunk mats see luggage being thrown in, dragged out, scraped along the boot floor by passenger movement, and occasionally compressed by heavy items at single corners. The boot floor itself is a finished but utility-oriented surface that the OEM AMG-spec leaves protected by a thin carpet. The Mansory velour trunk mat with nubuck edging is a deeper, denser pile mat that sits over that OEM carpet, protecting it from luggage abrasion and adding a refined material register that visibly elevates the boot space. The nubuck edge — soft, suede-like — sits more discreetly against the trunk-cavity carpet plane than a leather edge would, which is the right register for a trunk that owners use rather than display. Single piece, sized to the OEM W223 saloon boot footprint. It is part of the parent Mansory Carbon Fiber Body kit set for Mercedes-AMG S63E.

Construction & Materials

Trunk mats see harder wear than cabin mats — luggage dragging, sharp corners on hard cases, point-loads from heavy items. The layup balances pile depth with abrasion resistance.

  • Pile face: dense polyamide velour, 12 mm pile, 900 g/m² — heavier than cabin mats
  • Backing: closed-cell rubber for grip on OEM trunk carpet, anti-skid
  • Edge: hand-bound nubuck strip, 14 mm visible width — wider than cabin-mat nubuck
  • Corner reinforcements: double-layer at the four boot-floor corners
  • Pile dye: solution-dyed for UV stability and stain resistance
  • Boot-floor cut-outs: spare-tyre access flap, OEM tie-down anchor cut-outs
  • OEM cargo-net hook positions preserved at edges
  • Single-piece construction, sized to OEM W223 LWB boot footprint

Design & Visual Function

Trunk pile is heavier than cabin pile — 900 g/m² vs the cabin mat's 800 g/m² — because luggage abrasion is harder than foot abrasion and the boot mat is replaced less frequently than cabin mats over the car's life. The nubuck edge is functional as well as cosmetic: the soft, suede-like material does not catch on rough luggage corners the way a hard leather edge would, which means the boot opens-and-closes don't develop catch-points along the perimeter. The boot floor reads as an upgraded utility surface rather than a luxury display piece.

The cut-out for the OEM W223 spare-tyre access flap is hand-fitted to the OEM dimensions; lifting the access flap during a tyre service does not require lifting the whole mat. The OEM cargo-net hook positions at the boot edges are preserved as small cut-outs that allow the OEM net to anchor without obstruction. For owners who frequently use the OEM net, these cut-outs are a meaningful difference from a generic non-OEM-fitted trunk mat.

The nubuck edge colour is matched to the AMG-spec interior palette by default — owners specifying interior colour-pop accents (red, white, contrast yellow) typically reserve those for the cabin mats and keep the trunk in a more reserved colour register.

Compatibility & Fitment

Engineered for Mercedes-AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE (W223), 2023+, long-wheelbase saloon. Single-piece mat sized to OEM trunk floor dimensions. AMG Night Package and AMG Carbon Package cars are supported. The OEM AMG-spec spare-tyre access flap is preserved through a sized cut-out; the OEM cargo-net hook positions at the boot edges are preserved through smaller perimeter cut-outs. Cars with the optional AMG Sound System (which sometimes routes a subwoofer through the boot-floor area) are supported — the mat does not interfere with the OEM subwoofer's frequency-radiation profile. Cars with the AMG Air Compressor (factory-fitted under-floor item) retain access to the compressor through the spare-tyre cut-out, since the compressor lives below the access flap and shares the flap's lift-out path.

Installation & Reversibility

Plan 2–3 minutes. Lift the OEM-supplied trunk carpet protector, drop the Mansory mat into the trunk floor, smooth flat. The OEM cargo-net hook positions and the spare-tyre access flap are immediately accessible. Reversibility is full and clean — lift the mat at any time for cleaning, swap with a different colour, or remove for OEM-set restoration. The OEM trunk carpet underneath is not modified by the mat installation in any way.

Pairing within the Mansory Mercedes-AMG S63E programme

Most often combined with the Velour mats nubuck for matching cabin-and-trunk velour register, with the Trunk house decor for boot-cavity wall coverage in addition to the floor, and with the Inner entrance panels for cabin-to-boot material continuity.

Maintenance & Durability

Trunk velour sees less foot-traffic abrasion than cabin velour but more luggage-related wear. Monthly shake-out with the boot lid open — the larger surface and the boot-cavity geometry make a vacuum cleaner essential rather than optional. Quarterly deep cleaning: lift the mat, vacuum the OEM trunk carpet underneath, brush the mat pile face with a soft-bristled brush, low-pressure water rinse if needed (avoid soaking the rubber backing). The nubuck edge is the most chemically-sensitive zone — keep solvents and acid-based cleaners well clear; nubuck-specific cleaning compound only. Treat any spills within minutes; solution-dyed pile resists staining. The corner reinforcements at the four boot-floor corners are the principal stress points and should be inspected annually for thread wear at the seam. Cosmetic-finish lifespan: 6–9 years given typical luggage-abrasion exposure. Owners who routinely transport pets in the boot should specify a separate pet-zone protector layer over the velour for sustained claw-abrasion exposure; the mat's pile is durable but not claw-resistant by itself.

Lead Time & Warranty

Production turnaround: 3–5 weeks. The hand-bound nubuck perimeter is the rate-limiting step. Custom interior-matched nubuck colours add roughly one week. Custom embroidery (Mansory mark) on the boot-floor centre adds roughly one week. Warranty: 12 months against manufacturing defects — pile attachment, backing bond, nubuck edge stitch integrity, corner reinforcement strength, OEM cut-out dimensional accuracy — running from delivery date. Outside warranty: pile crush from sustained heavy luggage loading, edge damage from sharp luggage corners, stain damage from spillage, and nubuck damage from solvents.

FAQ

Q: Does the mat preserve the OEM spare-tyre access flap?
A: Yes. A sized cut-out at the OEM access flap position allows lifting the flap during a tyre service without removing the mat.

Q: Will the mat affect the OEM AMG Sound System subwoofer (where fitted)?
A: No. The mat does not interfere with the OEM subwoofer's frequency-radiation profile.

Q: Are the OEM cargo-net anchor positions accessible?
A: Yes. Small perimeter cut-outs at the OEM net-hook positions preserve OEM net anchoring.

Q: How does the trunk mat differ from the cabin mats?
A: Heavier pile (900 vs 800 g/m²), wider nubuck edge (14 vs 12 mm), corner reinforcements, and OEM trunk-floor specific cut-outs. Different functional brief: luggage abrasion vs foot abrasion.

Q: Will the mat slide if I drag heavy luggage across it?
A: The closed-cell rubber backing grips the OEM carpet against typical drag forces. Very heavy items dragged at speed (over 30 kg pulled rapidly) can shift the mat marginally; a quick smooth-out at the corner restores the position.

Q: Will the mat fit the OEM AMG-spec ski pass-through (where fitted)?
A: Yes. The pass-through hatch is on the rear seat-back, not the boot floor; the mat does not interact with it.

Q: Can the mat be cut to fit a custom luggage layout?
A: Not recommended — the perimeter is hand-bound and cutting through the binding will unravel the seam. Owners with bespoke luggage configurations should contact Mansory for a custom-cut version with the binding routed to the new perimeter.

Q: How does the trunk mat differ from the leather-ending trunk variant?
A: Edge material only — nubuck is a soft, suede-like sub-grain leather; the leather-ending variant uses smooth full-grain Nappa. Pile, backing, dimensions, and cut-out geometry are identical between variants.

Q: Will the mat affect HV-battery service access from below the trunk floor?
A: No. HV-battery service access on the W223 PHEV layout is performed from below the chassis, not through the boot floor. The mat is in the cabin-side boot floor and is unaffected by HV-battery service operations.
