The Maserati MC20 Cielo is the open-top derivative of the MC20 mid-engined supercar, which itself was Maserati's 2020 return to a true mid-engined two-seater after the retirement of the 2004-2005 MC12. Where the MC20 Coupé uses a full carbon composite monocoque with a fixed roof, the Cielo replaces that roof with a retractable electrochromic glass hardtop (PDLC technology) that transitions from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button and folds under a rear tonneau in 12 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h. The Cielo launched in 2022, one year after the MC20 Coupé. Powertrain is shared: Maserati's new Nettuno 3.0 L twin-turbocharged V6 with F1-derived pre-chamber ignition technology — 630 hp / 730 Nm at the crank, driving the rear wheels via an 8-speed DCT, 0-100 km/h in 2.9 s, top speed 320 km/h. Mansory's Cielo programme is a carbon-fibre body-kit set engineered around the roof mechanism and its tonneau kinematics.
The MC20 is structurally carbon-rich from the factory: the monocoque itself, plus optional carbon body panels, are standard Maserati-catalogue items. Mansory's contribution to the Cielo is therefore not carbon-for-carbon's-sake — it is carbon with visual intent, reshaping the MC20's Maserati-clean lines into a more aggressive aerodynamic language without disturbing the retractable-roof geometry or the PDLC glass operation. The design brief emphasises three things: preserve the factory 12-second roof cycle and tonneau fold-path; preserve the Cielo's electrochromic glass control system and its associated cabling routed through the rear decklid; preserve the factory Maserati ADAS sensor positions and pedestrian-impact calibration. Within those constraints, Mansory adds a full complement of carbon fender, bumper and decklid components.
Cielo kit schedule: replacement carbon front bumper with deeper three-piece splitter, enlarged intakes and integrated brake-cooling ducts; carbon bonnet with functional heat-extraction louvres; carbon front-fender widebody extensions (bonded onto factory fenders) widening track by approximately 25-30 mm per side; carbon rear-fender widebody extensions matched to 22" rear fitment; deep carbon side skirts; replacement carbon rear bumper with exposed central diffuser and dual-exit Mansory exhaust bezels; carbon engine-bay louvre panel replacing factory rear-decklid trim; carbon rear-wing spoiler low-drag profile tuned to respect Cielo roof kinematics (does not interfere with roof-fold path); carbon tonneau-cover trim matching the factory tonneau fold-cycle; carbon mirror-housing replacements; carbon roof-pillar trim panels. The kit works with both PDLC-equipped and standard-glass Cielo variants.
Donor: Maserati MC20 Cielo, model year 2022 onwards. Mansory Maserati portfolio on hodoor.world: Ghibli (M157 saloon), Quattroporte (M156 flagship saloon), Levante (F161 SUV), GranTurismo (M145 original 2007-2019 and 2023+ successor), MC20 Coupé, MC20 Cielo (this programme). The Cielo programme shares its carbon component family with the MC20 Coupé programme except for decklid, rear spoiler and tonneau-cover elements, which are Cielo-specific.
Commission requires: MC20 Cielo VIN, PrimaSerie vs standard confirmation, current paint and interior codes, carbon scope (full kit vs selected components), wheel choice, interior-retrim option, destination country. Typical timelines: 12-14 weeks carbon and wheels; +3 weeks interior retrim; installation 2 weeks at certified Maserati-experienced workshop. Total: ~4 months. Contact: +44 7488 818747 (WhatsApp) or [email protected].
Does the kit compromise the retractable glass hardtop cycle? No. The rear-spoiler and tonneau-cover components are engineered within the factory 12-second roof cycle and PDLC electrochromic cabling routing.
Is the PDLC electrochromic glass functionality preserved? Yes — opacity switching between transparent and opaque states remains fully operational; no change to the glass-control ECU.
Can the kit be installed on the MC20 Coupé? Partially — fender extensions and side skirts interchange, but the rear decklid, spoiler and tonneau panel are Cielo-specific. The MC20 Coupé has a separate programme.
Is Maserati ADAS calibration retained? Yes — all factory ADAS sensors, parking cameras and pedestrian-impact structures are mounted in factory positions on the replacement bumpers.
Does Mansory offer a Nettuno engine tune? A reflash to ~700 hp with intake and exhaust upgrades is available as a separate commission; it is not part of this body-kit programme.
Is the kit reversible? Fender extensions are bonded and considered permanent; bumpers, decklid, spoiler, skirts and mirror caps are bolt-on / clip-on and can be reversed to factory specification.
Order-to-road lead time? Approximately 4 months including install.
