The BMW X5 E70 was the second-generation X5, in production from late 2006 (model year 2007) through 2013, and the chassis on which BMW first ran a Mansory programme as a catalogue item rather than a per-VIN commission. The car ran two visually distinct front-end faces: the pre-LCI (2007 through to mid-2010, with the original kidney-grille and headlamp graphic carried over from late E53 design language), and the LCI facelift (mid-2010 through 2013, with redesigned LED tail-lamps, revised front bumper and updated kidney grille). Both faces fall inside this Mansory programme — the carbon front bumper is supplied in two SKU variants matched to the front-end year, and all other body parts are common between pre-LCI and LCI.
In Hodoor's BMW SUV stack, the E70 sits adjacent to the X6 F16 SAC (the platform-sibling Sports Activity Coupé) and the larger XM hybrid flagship. Saloon Mansory sister-cars: 7 Series G11/G12, 7 Series G70, M5 G90.
The E70 launched in November 2006 as a meaningfully larger replacement for the E53 — wider track, longer wheelbase, BMW's first xDrive system to ship without low-range transfer-case duty, and a model range that grew from a five-seat utility into a chassis that supported the inaugural X5 M in 2010. Engine range, by phase: pre-LCI shipped the N52B30 inline-six (xDrive30i, 272 hp), the N62B48 V8 (xDrive48i, 355 hp) and the M57 diesel inline-six. From 2010 the LCI phase replaced the N62 with the more efficient twin-turbo N63B44 V8 (xDrive50i, 408 hp / 600 Nm), introduced the N57 triturbo diesel (M50d, 381 hp), and added the X5 M on the S63B44 twin-turbo V8 (555 hp / 680 Nm, BMW M Division's first all-wheel-drive M car). Mansory's E70 programme is dimensioned around the LCI-phase bumper geometry by default, with a pre-LCI bumper SKU available as a substitution at order. Standard kerb weight ranges from 2 100 kg (xDrive30i) to 2 380 kg (X5 M).
The E70 catalogue is a mid-aggression kit — wider than OEM but not a Carbonado-class +60 mm widebody — built on a +30 mm fender flare and a replacement front-and-rear bumper pair. Hand-laid 2x2 twill weave finish on visible aerodynamic pieces, PU-RIM composite on the bumpers and flares, with optional dry-carbon upgrade for the bumpers. The complete E70 schedule:
Mansory's E70 catalogue is body-and-wheels by default; powertrain modules are optional and quoted as separate SKUs against specific engine codes. N62B48 (pre-LCI xDrive48i, 355 hp / 475 Nm) — no Mansory module; the engine is a normally-aspirated four-valve V8 and tuning gains are limited without forced induction. N63B44 (LCI xDrive50i, 408 hp / 600 Nm twin-turbo) — Mansory ECU + intercooler module raises output to approximately 540 hp / 750 Nm. S63B44 (X5 M, 555 hp / 680 Nm) — Mansory module commissioned per VIN to approximately 670 hp / 850 Nm with a sport-exhaust pairing. M57N2 and N57 diesel donors — module quoted on request, typically a 60-80 hp gain with calibration plus DPF-aware exhaust work. Specify donor engine code with the body-kit order so the right module SKU is bundled.
Factory E70 ships on 18"-20" wheels; X5 M on 20"-21". Mansory E70 fitment is a flat 22" staggered forged set: 285/35 R22 front and rear. Patterns: M.7 classic multi-spoke, FD.16 dual-spoke concave, YN.5 double-Y. Finishes: satin black, polished face with contrast spoke, two-tone diamond-cut, matte gunmetal, paint-to-sample matched to the body. The +30 mm flare absorbs the 285-section tyre cleanly. Owners running standard arches without the flare set are routed to a 21" forged option instead. Full forged catalogue: hodoor.world/collection/forgedwheels. The wheel set carries TÜV documentation against E70 kerb weight including X5 M's 2 380 kg figure.
The E70 is now a fifteen-to-eighteen-year-old chassis and the order book reflects that. The kit is rarely commissioned for new-bought donors; it ships almost entirely to second-hand E70s held by long-term owners or to collector E70 X5 M cars that command a recurring small-but-stable demand. Geographic concentration:
Body kit (full): four to five weeks from the workshop. Power module (where applicable): four weeks for calibration plus exhaust commission. 22" forged wheel set: four weeks. Email [email protected] with VIN and donor specification (xDrive30i / xDrive48i / xDrive50i / X5 M, pre-LCI or LCI), or message WhatsApp +44 7488 818747. Right-hand-drive UK and Asian-market donors ship on the same SKU set as left-hand-drive cars; the kit is not handed.
Pre-LCI vs LCI front bumper — same kit?
Two SKUs. The 2007-2010 pre-LCI front bumper and the 2010-2013 LCI front bumper have different intake apertures and different lower-valance geometry. Specify the donor's build year at order so the correct front bumper SKU is bundled. All other parts (bonnet, fenders, rear apron, side skirts, roof spoiler, mirrors) are common.
Will the E70 kit fit the F15 (third-generation X5, 2014-2018) or the G05 (fourth-generation, 2019+)?
No. The F15 and G05 use different platforms, different bumper lines and different door geometry. The E70 kit is engineered specifically to the second-generation X5 chassis. Mansory's F15 programme is a separate per-VIN commission; G05 is currently quoted as custom work outside the catalogue.
X5 M (S63B44) — does the kit fit and is the power module supported?
Yes on both. The X5 M shares the E70 bodyshell with the standard E70 — the bumpers, fenders and rear apron all fit, with the X5 M's quad-exhaust requiring the X5 M-specific rear apron SKU. The S63B44 power module is quoted per VIN and adds approximately 115 hp / 170 Nm with a sport-exhaust pairing.
Does the kit affect BMW's parking-sensor or camera calibration?
The replacement bumpers are engineered around the OEM front and rear PDC sensor positions and the rear-view camera bracket. Sensors transfer from the OEM bumper into the carbon bumper at install. No software recalibration is required. ACC-equipped E70 LCI donors retain their radar module's OEM mounting position.
Can the bonded fender flares be removed later?
The flares are bonded to the OEM door shut-line and rear-quarter; removal is possible but requires the donor's original quarter-panel to be repainted to clear the bond line. Owners who want a reversible programme are routed to the overlay-style fender vent inserts only, without the bonded flare.
