The Sahara Edition is Mansory's desert-themed answer to its own G-class catalogue. Most Mansory G-Wagen programmes — Gronos, Star Trooper, Black Manga, Wide-body — have aimed at on-road menace: low stance, glossy paint, polished forged. Sahara takes the opposite vector. The kit is engineered around the idea that a Mansory G-class should look like it just spent the morning in the dunes — raised stance, integrated brush bars, sand-finish carbon weave, matte-bronze forged.
It is the most overtly off-road-coded G-class programme in the Mansory catalogue, and it is dimensioned specifically for the second-generation W463A platform (2018+) — the all-new aluminium-bodied G that Mercedes-Benz launched at Detroit 2018 to replace the original 1979-2018 W463 after a single 39-year production run.
The G-class W463A launched 2018 is Mercedes-Benz's first ground-up redesign of the G-Wagen since the original 1979 W460. Same body silhouette by deliberate decision — exposed door hinges, vertical screen, side-opening tailgate — but every component beneath is new. Aluminium bonnet, doors and front fenders. New ladder-frame chassis. Independent front suspension replacing the old solid-axle live front. Rear axle remains live with three locking differentials. Wading depth 700 mm.
| Donor scope | G500 (V8), G63 AMG (V8 BiTurbo), G400d (I6 diesel) |
| G500 engine | 4.0 L M177 V8 BiTurbo — 422 hp / 610 Nm |
| G63 AMG engine | 4.0 L M177 V8 BiTurbo (AMG-tuned) — 585 hp / 850 Nm |
| G400d engine | 3.0 L OM656 inline-six diesel — 330 hp / 700 Nm |
| Transmission | 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic |
| Drivetrain | Permanent AWD with three locking differentials (centre, front, rear) and reduction gearset |
| Wading depth | 700 mm |
| Approach / departure / breakover | 30° / 30° / 26° |
| Dimensions | 4 817 × 1 931 × 1 969 mm — wheelbase 2 890 mm |
Sahara fits across all three engine choices — G500, G63 AMG, G400d — with bumper intake area and bonnet-louvre count tuned per donor. The G63's M177 V8 BiTurbo is the most thermally demanding and gets the largest cooling cut-outs; the G400d diesel gets a closed-grille front for desert-dust filtration; the G500 sits between.
Optional extras: front winch ready-mount, sand-ladder roof brackets, jerry-can roof mount with locking strap, integrated 2 kW LED light bar wiring loom, and full off-road skid-plate underbody package in 4 mm aluminium.
Where most Mansory G-class programmes drop the ride height for on-road menace, Sahara raises it. The factory G-class adaptive damper system is left in place, but the kit ships with +25 mm raised spring perches and longer-travel dampers tuned for sand-and-rock duty. Total ride height with the full Sahara stance and 24" forged wheels: approximately 240 mm ground clearance unloaded, 215 mm with the full off-road equipment package fitted.
Approach and departure angles are preserved at 30°/30° factory; with the Sahara front bumper and skid plate the approach angle is fractionally reduced to ~28°, but the rear remains 30° because the Sahara rear bumper is cut higher than the factory G63 unit. Wading depth remains 700 mm.
Factory W463A wheel sizes range 19"-22". Sahara fitment is 24" forged staggered on Mansory off-road-coded patterns: FM.10 deep-multi-spoke as the broadest option, FB.6 beadlock-styled six-spoke for the most overtly off-road read, and FX.7 X-pattern for the cleanest desert silhouette. Tyre fitment 315/45 R24 all-terrain on the off-road builds, 305/40 R24 for road-biased. Finishes lean into the desert palette: matte sand-bronze, matte-black with bronze pinstripe, satin-anthracite, dark-bronze polished face. TÜV-documented for G-class kerb weight (~2 540 kg) and the M177 V8 BiTurbo torque load. Full forged-wheel catalogue: hodoor.world/collection/forgedwheels.
Sahara reads strongest in four cities — the desert-luxury and dune-driving cores where the off-road read of the kit lands as cultural fluency, not costume.
Dubai — UAE Sahara orders run year-round; the kit's desert-hunter framing is literal in a market where dune driving is genuine weekend leisure rather than aesthetic. UAE country brief.
Riyadh — Saudi Arabia's G-class registrations climbed steeply post-2020 luxury-import reform, and Sahara reads particularly well against the Riyadh-Diriyah-NEOM corridor where genuine off-road duty intersects with collector-tier ownership. Saudi Arabia country brief.
Doha — Qatar G63 ownership clusters around West Bay and The Pearl, and Sahara is the configuration most-specified for buyers who want a G-Wagen that reads as desert-coded rather than city-coded. Qatar country brief.
Moscow — Russia's G-class collector base is extensive and post-facelift W463A ownership remains substantial; Sahara ships into the Moscow-region installer network for clients building a G-Wagen for Caucasus and Karakum-region driving.
Sahara order intake requires: G-class VIN, donor confirmation (G500 / G63 AMG / G400d), build year (W463A 2018+ only — the kit does not fit the original W463 1979-2018), exterior paint code, scope (full kit vs selected components — the brush bar, roof rack and roof-tent package are specifiable independently), wheel pattern and finish, off-road extras package, destination country and customs profile.
Quote turnaround 48 hours. Production typically 10-12 weeks for the carbon kit and forged wheels; off-road extras and skid-plate package add 2 weeks. Installation 2-3 weeks at a Mercedes-experienced workshop.

Does Sahara fit the original W463 (1979-2018) or only the W463A (2018+)? W463A only. The kit's bumper-mount geometry, fender-extension bonding lines and bonnet-louvre cut-outs are dimensioned for the new aluminium-body W463A. The original W463 is supported by Mansory's earlier Gronos and 6×6 programmes.
Is Sahara compatible with the G63 AMG factory front bumper "Magnum" intakes? The Sahara front bumper replaces the factory unit entirely and the M177 V8 BiTurbo cooling intakes are re-cut larger than the factory Magnum cut-outs. ECU and ADAS sensors retain factory positions.
Will the off-road skid plate package keep the G-class ground clearance and wading depth? Yes. Approach angle reduces fractionally (~28° vs factory 30°), departure remains 30°, wading depth remains 700 mm. The skid plate sits flush with the original underbody plane.
Is the raised-stance suspension a separate option or part of the kit? Separate option. The base Sahara carbon kit ships at factory ride height. The +25 mm raised spring set with longer-travel dampers is specifiable as a chassis package add-on.
Can the Sahara stance fit 24" forged with all-terrain tyres for genuine off-road duty? Yes — the recommended off-road fitment is 315/45 R24 all-terrain on the FB.6 beadlock-style or FX.7 X-pattern wheel. The 305/40 R24 road-biased fitment is for clients who want the desert silhouette without the all-terrain rolling resistance.
