Mirror I housing and mirror foot Mansory Carbon for Ferrari F8 Tributo

The Mirror I housing and mirror foot in Mansory carbon is the conservative, closer-to-OEM choice within the F8 carbon programme. It replaces both the painted exterior mirror cap and the body-coloured stem with a single carbon assembly per side, drawn directly from Mansory's Mansory Carbon Fiber Body kit set for Ferrari F8 Tributo. Where Mirror II reshapes the door-line with a taller, more sculptural foot, Mirror I keeps the original F8 silhouette intact and simply changes the material story: same geometry, same aerodynamic profile, now in pre-preg carbon with weave aligned to the side-sirts and outer door handle. It is the part to specify when the F8 should still read as a F8 from twenty metres away, and only reveal Mansory's hand on closer inspection.

Construction & Materials

The Mirror I assembly is built from autoclave-cured pre-preg carbon-fibre laminates over a lightweight foam-and-glass core, mirroring the OEM mounting interface so that no wiring loom or motor housing is modified. Mansory finalises each pair in Brand to ensure paired weave orientation across left and right halves, with twill or plain-weave selected at order time. The internal substrate carries the OEM mirror motor, glass cradle and heating element directly; the carbon housing acts as a stressed outer skin rather than a structural member.

Wall thickness is held tight to keep mass and visual bulk close to factory while leaving room for a UV-stable clear topcoat. Each shell is hand-finished, deburred at the foot interface and pressure-tested into the OEM gasket before despatch.

  • Pre-preg 2x2 twill (3K) standard; plain weave or forged carbon optional.
  • Autoclave cure cycle, approximately 120 C / 6 bar, for void-free laminate.
  • Average wall thickness 1.6-2.2 mm depending on housing zone.
  • Weight per pair approximately 0.85-1.05 kg, marginally under the painted OEM unit.
  • Mounting via the original mirror-foot bolt pattern; OEM motor harness and connector retained one-to-one.
  • UV-stable 2K clearcoat, polished to a deep gloss; satin clear available on request.
  • Weave alignment matched left to right and indexed to the door-skin carbon parts.
  • Drainage and gasket interface preserved to keep the OEM seal at the door.

Design & Visual Function

Mirror I is deliberately the quieter half of the F8 mirror choice. The cap follows the original housing volume almost line for line, so the door-mirror pod still tucks behind the A-pillar at the same angle, and the rear three-quarter view keeps the production F8's clean shoulder. What changes is the surface: painted plastic gives way to a continuous carbon shell whose twill rotates at the same pitch as the carbon outer door handle and the upper edge of the side-sirts. From the driver's seat the visual mass through the side glass is unchanged - useful on a car whose mirror sightlines were tuned at Maranello.

For owners specifying a part-kit rather than a full conversion, Mirror I is the natural pairing with the front fender air intake and the engine logo section: it adds carbon to a high-touch surface without committing the car to a more aggressive profile. The foot/stem in carbon is the detail that most photographs miss; in person it removes a body-coloured break between door and mirror and reads as a single sculpted unit.

Aerodynamically, Mirror I sits closer to the OEM pressure map than Mirror II. Wind-noise at motorway speeds is closer to factory, buffeting around the A-pillar is reduced versus the taller Mirror II foot, and there is no measurable change to side-glass turbulence. Buyers who track their F8 occasionally and use the car on long European motorway runs tend to prefer Mirror I for exactly this reason.

Compatibility & Fitment

Designed exclusively for the Ferrari F8 Tributo Coupe and F8 Spider, model years 2019 through 2024. The mirror foot interface is F8-specific and will not fit the preceding 488 GTB or 488 Pista, nor the succeeding 296 GTB - both cars use different mirror geometries and harness routings. Heated mirror function, electric adjustment and (where fitted) blind-spot monitoring are fully retained because the original motor cradle, glass and sensor harness are reused inside the carbon shell. Power-folding, where present from factory, is preserved. The F8 is a pure ICE car with the 3.9-litre F154 V8 twin-turbo behind the cabin; nothing in this part touches drivetrain or cooling, so it carries no powertrain caveats.

One critical rule: choose either Mirror I or Mirror II per car, never both. The two share the OEM mounting point and only one carbon assembly can occupy each side. Owners cross-shopping the two should think of Mirror I as the OEM-silhouette option and Mirror II as the sculptural one.

Installation & Reversibility

Installation is straightforward for any workshop familiar with Ferrari trim. Both factory mirror assemblies are removed at the door card after disconnecting the multi-pin harness; the OEM motor and glass cradle are then transferred into the Mansory shell, the foot is bolted to the original threaded inserts, and the harness is reconnected and tested for heat, fold and adjustment before the door card is closed. Total bench time runs around one to two hours for the pair with the car indoors, plus a final torque-and-test step.

The conversion is fully reversible: nothing is cut, drilled or bonded to the door, and the OEM mirrors can be reinstalled at any time without trace. We strongly recommend a Ferrari-experienced trim specialist for the harness transfer step to avoid pinching the heater or blind-spot wiring against the new carbon shell.

Pairing within the Mansory F8 programme

Mirror I is built to live alongside the rest of the F8 carbon range. The closest neighbours visually are the carbon outer door handle and the side sirts, which together turn the entire door-line into a continuous carbon band - this is the pairing most owners specify with Mirror I. Adding the front fender air intake brings the carbon forward into the wing without committing to a full front-end conversion. If a more aggressive mirror is preferred later, the bolder alternative is the Mirror II housing and mirror foot; the same OEM motor cradle transfers across, so an upgrade path exists without further bodywork.

Maintenance & Durability

Carbon mirrors live in one of the harshest zones on the car: stone chips off the front wheels, insect strike on the leading edge, and constant UV at the upper surface. The Mansory clearcoat is UV-stable and polish-safe, but a small piece of paint protection film over the leading edge of the housing is the cheapest insurance against chipping. Hand-wash with a pH-neutral shampoo, avoid solvent-heavy bug removers directly on the carbon, and use a dedicated carbon-safe sealant twice a year. Inspect the foot-to-door gasket annually; the OEM seal is retained, but a quick visual check protects against water ingress to the harness.

Lead Time & Warranty

Mirror I housings are produced to order at Mansory. Standard lead time is approximately four to eight weeks from order confirmation, depending on weave and finish. Each pair ships with a Mansory certificate of authenticity and a 12-month manufacturer warranty against laminate, clearcoat and structural defects under normal road use.

FAQ

Q: How is Mirror I different from Mirror II?
A: Mirror I keeps the original F8 mirror silhouette and foot height - it is the closer-to-OEM, lower-profile choice. Mirror II is taller, with a more sculptural foot, and shifts the door-line geometry. Both share the same OEM mounting and motor cradle.

Q: Can I fit both Mirror I and Mirror II on the same car?
A: No. Each side has only one mirror mount, so you choose one programme per car. Owners often start with Mirror I and migrate to Mirror II later if they want a bolder look.

Q: Will the F8 Spider take Mirror I?
A: Yes. The mirror foot interface is shared between Coupe and Spider 2019-2024, so Mirror I fits both bodystyles without modification.

Q: Will Mirror I fit a 488 GTB, 488 Pista or 296 GTB?
A: No. The part is engineered specifically to the F8 mirror geometry and harness routing. The 488 series and the 296 GTB use different foot interfaces and are not compatible.

Q: Are heated mirrors, electric adjustment and blind-spot monitoring retained?
A: Yes. The OEM motor, heating element, glass cradle and sensor harness are all transferred into the carbon shell, so every factory function continues to work as Ferrari intended.

Specify Mirror I together with the carbon outer door handle and side sirts for the cleanest single-line door treatment, or step up to Mirror II if a bolder mirror foot is preferred. To configure the right pair for your F8, message us on WhatsApp +44 7488 818 747 or write to [email protected].
