MANSORY for the new Range Rover L460 — first carbon programme on the MLA-Flex platform

Land Rover's current Range Rover — chassis code L460, launched for the 2023 model year — is the first Range Rover built on the MLA-Flex platform, and it is the first Range Rover in the Mansory catalogue that exists in two distinct wheelbases from launch. Short-wheelbase (SWB) and long-wheelbase (LWB) bodies are sold in parallel, and the Mansory kit dimensioning has to split across both. This page works through the platform context, which wheelbase takes which kit SKU, which drivetrains the kit accepts (including the PHEV), and where SWB and LWB commissions go in 2026.

MLA-Flex — what the platform change means for the Mansory kit

The previous-generation L405 Range Rover (our L405 Mansory page lives separately) sat on the PLA platform. The new L460 moves to MLA-Flex — a body-on-modular-platform architecture that supports ICE, PHEV, and future BEV drivetrains on the same body shell. For the Mansory workshop the practical consequences were three: (a) the front structure is a new crash-architecture and the factory bumper mount points moved, so the previous L405 kit's front bumper does not physically fit the L460; (b) the rear crash beam geometry is new, so the L405 rear apron does not fit either; (c) the MLA-Flex architecture supports a factory LWB sold in parallel with the SWB, which is new for the Range Rover badge. The current kit is therefore a clean-sheet design, not an L405 carry-over.

SWB and LWB — two side-skirt SKUs, shared everything else

Front bumper, bonnet, rear apron, ducktail spoiler, mirror caps and carbon grille overlay are common between SWB and LWB bodies. The split is exclusively the side skirts: the LWB body runs a 200 mm longer wheelbase than the SWB, and the rocker panel covering the longer floorpan needs a correspondingly longer side skirt SKU. The workshop ships the SWB or LWB side-skirt pair based on VIN routing. Owners who commission a paired SWB and LWB build in the same garage receive both side-skirt pairs with the matched front / bonnet / rear stack.

The parts list — what ships in both kit variants

Dry carbon on the bonnet, ducktail and carbon grille overlay. PU-RIM composite with visible carbon trim on the bumpers, rear apron and side skirts (dry-carbon upgrade available for the front bumper only). Install runs four to five shop days, longer on the LWB because of the longer side-skirt fitment step.

Front:

  • Front bumper with redrawn intake geometry preserving factory sensor apertures
  • Carbon bonnet with dual discreet louvre outlets (functional, sized to the V8's under-bonnet heat signature)
  • Carbon grille overlay sitting above the factory horizontal-slat grille

Mid:

  • Side skirts — SWB length or LWB length (specify by VIN)
  • Mirror caps (body-coloured or raw carbon)

Rear:

  • Rear apron with integrated diffuser
  • Ducktail-style carbon boot-lid spoiler
  • Rear reflector carbon surrounds
  • Carbon tailpipe trim ring set (four rings on V8 / ICE donors, deletion plate on PHEV donors that route exhaust below the bumper line)

Drivetrain coverage — ICE, mild hybrid, PHEV

The L460 kit covers the full factory drivetrain matrix. The P400 inline-six mild-hybrid, the P440e and P510e plug-in hybrids (3.0 Ingenium inline-six paired with an e-motor), the P530 with the 4.4 BMW-sourced biturbo V8, and the P615 SV trim (V8 in a higher-tuned state of engineering) all accept the same kit. The one drivetrain-specific nuance is the rear-bumper exhaust cutout on the PHEV variants: the P440e and P510e route the exhaust tip below the rear-bumper line rather than through tailpipe cutouts, which means the four-ring carbon tailpipe trim is not fitted to PHEV donors. PHEV donors receive a small carbon deletion plate instead. Factory powertrain output stays unchanged — the kit is bodywork and wheels only, and Mansory does not publish a tune for the BMW N63 V8 in this donor or for the Ingenium PHEV.

Wheels — 23" for SWB, 24" for LWB Autobiography / SV

Mansory's wheel ladder for the L460 is 23" as the baseline and 24" as the LWB Autobiography / SV flagship wheel. The SWB body clears either wheel size but is visually balanced on the 23"; the LWB body's longer wheelbase reads better on the 24" and the 24" is the dominant spec on LWB Autobiography and LWB SV commissions. A matched lowering module is available that interfaces with the factory air-suspension control unit on both wheelbases. Wheel collection: Hodoor forged wheels.

The SWB / LWB geographic split

Where the kit ships depends heavily on wheelbase. SWB and LWB go to different markets, and the Mansory commissions split along that line.

LWB Autobiography / SV geography. The LWB body is overwhelmingly commissioned in the Gulf and in China. UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar carry the single largest LWB Mansory order book — the long-wheelbase body fits the region's chauffeur-and-owner alternation use pattern. LWB commissions in the Gulf typically specify the 24" wheel, dry-carbon front bumper, and body-coloured rear apron; the four-seat rear configuration of the SV trim is the dominant interior spec. China takes the second-largest LWB share, concentrated in Beijing and Shanghai, with a distinct preference for the P530 V8 over the PHEV.

SWB geography. The SWB body dominates three European markets: UK (home market — the Range Rover still registers at the highest density in the UK, and the SWB is the dominant registration), Switzerland (Alpine household daily use, 23" wheel, PHEV P510e dominant), and Monaco / Côte d'Azur (summer-garage second car, V8 P530 dominant). The SWB US market is concentrated in California and the New York tri-state but does not have a country-blog page.

PHEV-driven variant geography. The P510e PHEV drivetrain drives a specific emissions-zone-compliance demand pattern in the Netherlands, Norway and (to a lesser extent) Sweden — these markets skew heavily toward the PHEV specification and order the Mansory kit with the PHEV-specific rear apron (no tailpipe cutouts).

CIS routing through the Tsar programme is SWB-dominant and concentrates on V8 donors.

Sister Mansory Range Rover programmes

The L460 kit sits next to the older-generation L405 Range Rover kit (previous-generation full-size SUV), the Range Rover Sport SVR (smaller sport-focused sibling), and the Defender 110 (off-road sibling). Households that run the Range Rover as a primary SUV and the Defender as a second car typically commission both Mansory kits to a matched paint code.

Ordering & lead time

Full L460 carbon set (SWB or LWB): four to six weeks from the workshop. 23" forged wheel set: four weeks. 24" forged wheel set with lowering module: five to six weeks. Email [email protected] or WhatsApp +44 7488 818747 with your VIN, the wheelbase variant (SWB / LWB), the drivetrain (P400 / P440e / P510e / P530 / P615 SV), the OEM Land Rover paint code, and preferred delivery facility. For LWB SV commissions specify whether the four-seat rear configuration or the five-seat rear configuration is in the donor — the side-skirt SKU does not differ, but the carbon tailpipe trim set for the rear varies slightly by trim level.

FAQ

Does this kit fit the previous-generation L405 Range Rover?
No. The L460 is on the MLA-Flex platform with different crash structures and mount points. The previous-generation L405 Mansory kit is a separate SKU and lives on its own page.

Does the kit fit both the P530 V8 and the P510e PHEV?
Yes. Front, bonnet, sides are shared. The rear apron ships in two sub-variants: ICE-spec with tailpipe cutouts (P530, P615 SV, P400 mild-hybrid) and PHEV-spec without cutouts (P440e, P510e). Specify the VIN and the workshop routes the correct rear apron automatically.

Is the kit compatible with Land Rover's factory Dynamic Response Pro anti-roll system and the factory all-wheel steering?
Yes. The bodywork is independent of the factory suspension and steering systems. The Mansory lowering module offsets ride height by interfacing with the air-suspension control unit without disturbing the Dynamic Response Pro calibration or the rear-wheel-steer angle targets.

Can the kit accommodate the factory off-road exit-angle geometry for true off-road use?
Partially. The front splitter / lower lip reduces approach angle by approximately 2 degrees vs the OEM front bumper. For commissions where the Range Rover is used in genuine off-road scenarios (not soft-roading) the workshop ships a lift-height variant of the front lip at 8 mm higher mount line; specify off-road use at order and the high-mount lip ships by default. This is an unusual request for the Mansory L460 programme — most commissions are paved-road-only.

Does the carbon bonnet interfere with Land Rover's factory front-facing off-road camera that sits in the grille?
No. The grille overlay is dimensioned around the factory camera aperture and does not obstruct the camera field of view or the washer-jet access.
