The Mercedes-Benz S-Class W222 is the sixth-generation S-Class sedan, in production from late 2013 through to the 2017 facelift. Mansory's pre-facelift programme on this page is the wide carbon body conversion dimensioned to the original W222 bumper architecture — the front and rear bumpers, the lower-fascia geometry, the AMG-line lower trim and the OEM lighting graphics that ran from launch to the 2017 facelift. After the facelift, the front and rear bumpers were reshaped and AMG S 63 moved from the M157 5.5-litre V8 to the M177 4.0-litre biturbo V8; that car runs a separate W222 facelift kit.
Sister-cars in the W222 family on Hodoor: the two-door C217 Coupé wide-body, the soft-top A217 Cabriolet and the soft-overlay C217/A217 facelift soft kit. The current generation of the S-Class catalogue moves to the W223 sedan programme; the long-wheelbase Maybach S-Class lives at the Maybach S-Class card. The platform background sits at the Wikipedia W222 entry.
The pre-facelift W222 covered an unusually broad engine spread because Mercedes was still selling V12s in volume during this generation. Mansory's body kit fits all four AMG-line and standard-line donors:
SWB and LWB L variants share kit hardpoints — the side skirt is a single SKU with an LWB centre-section extension that ships sealed on SWB orders. The Maybach X222 stretch sedan does not fit because its rear-door cutline shifts back; Maybach owners route to the W223-generation Maybach kit.
Comprehensive bonded carbon conversion. Front and rear bumpers replace at the OEM mounting points; bonnet replaces at the OEM hinge points; fenders are cut back at factory seams and the bonded carbon flares add width. Hand-laid 2x2 twill weave on visible aerodynamic pieces; PU-RIM composite on the bumper and flare bodies. None of the carbon panels cross the rear-door cutline (this is exactly what limits applicability to the Maybach X222).
Body-shop fitment runs 11-14 working days. The kit's front bumper has a re-routed radar pocket that keeps DISTRONIC operation without recalibration; ultrasonic parking sensors fit the OEM pre-cut pattern.
The Mansory Powerbox is offered on the AMG S 63 (M157 biturbo V8) only. Stock 585 hp / 900 Nm rises to roughly 700 hp / 1,050 Nm with the module plus valved sport exhaust. S 65 (M279 V12), S 600 (M275 V12) and S 500 (M278) are not catalogued for a Powerbox — the V12s run too close to thermal limit and the M278 luxury tune does not accept piggyback gains gracefully. S 65 / S 600 / S 500 owners after power deltas route through Brabus, Renntech or MEC Design.
The matched fitment is the Mansory M-series fully forged 22" wheel in stagger sizing optimised for the W222's heavier V12 rear axle. PCD 5x112, CB 66.5 mm, 22x9.0J ET+38 front, 22x10.5J ET+30 rear; 265/35 R22 front, 295/30 R22 rear. Patterns M.7, FD.16, YN.5 in diamond black, polished silver, gun metal and Mansory bronze. Trims ~5 kg unsprung per corner against AMG cast wheels and clears the OEM AMG ceramic-composite brakes on S 63 / S 65 without spacers. Range at forgedwheels.
The W222 cabin set is broader than on the C217 two-door: carbon door inlays, centre-stack surround, shift-paddle backings, rear-console carbon (LWB only), embroidered Mansory headrests, optional fully quilted nappa in any specified colour, contrast piping. The bespoke retrim is invoiced via Mansory Brand-Lab. OEM rear-cabin executive options (dual-screen, console fridge, recline seats) carry through unchanged.
2026 commissions concentrate around AMG S 63 donors with Powerbox specified, plus second-owner LWB cars in the GCC.
Carbon manufacture 4-5 weeks; Mercedes-experienced body-shop install 11-14 working days; forged set 4 weeks; Powerbox 1 hour at the OBD port; sport-exhaust 1 day. End-to-end VIN-confirmed quote to driveable car: 9-12 weeks. Will this kit fit my W222 facelift S 63?
No. The 2017 facelift introduced reshaped front and rear bumpers, and the AMG S 63 moved from M157 to M177 4.0 biturbo V8. The pre-facelift kit on this page does not align on facelift bumpers. Facelift cars run a separate Mansory part-number set on the dedicated W222 facelift product page.
Does the kit fit a Maybach S 600 X222?
No. The Maybach X222 is a stretched sedan with an extended rear door — the door cutline shifts back and the rear-door panel itself is a different stamping. The Mansory W222 kit cannot bridge that geometry. Maybach owners route to the W223 Maybach kit, which is the current Mansory programme for the Maybach line.
Can I run only the bumpers and bonnet without the wide-fender flares?
Yes. The kit is offered as either the full wide-body conversion or as a body-side-only / individual-parts spec. Bonded flares are the most permanent intervention; reversible builds skip the flares and run only bumpers, bonnet and skirts.
Is the Powerbox safe on the M157 in S 63 trim?
Yes. The M157 5.5 biturbo V8 is robust — the same block runs higher boost in CL 63, SL 63 and E 63 S applications. The Mansory Powerbox at +110 hp sits within tuning headroom and is reversible (no ECU re-flash). Service intervals are unchanged in customer feedback after multiple ownership cycles.
Does the conversion affect AIRMATIC?
No. The carbon parts are body-only — AIRMATIC struts, active body roll control and the road-scanning camera mount are untouched. The 22" forged set sits between OEM 19" cast and OEM 20" AMG forged on unsprung mass; AIRMATIC handles the change without recalibration. Optional Mansory-tuned AIRMATIC lowering modules are available at order time.
