Mansory Entrance Panels with Mansory Logo — Ferrari 296 GTB

The Mansory Entrance Panels with Mansory Logo for Ferrari 296 GTB are the restrained-visibility variant of Mansory's door-sill bespoke programme on the F171 platform. Each panel is a brushed-stainless trim plate that sits over the OEM 296 GTB door-sill area, carrying a laser-etched Mansory wordmark — without the backlit LED that the illuminated version uses. As a part of the wider Mansory Carbon Fiber Body Kit Set for Ferrari 296 GTB, this is the door-sill option for buyers who want the bespoke marker without the cabin-entry theatre of an illuminated wordmark.

Why this version exists

Two scenarios drive the plain-etched version over the illuminated. First, restrained design preference: some owners view illuminated cabin trim as overdone, or as a visual cue more associated with show cars than driver's cars. The plain-etched panel reads as a refined, factory-grade premium upgrade rather than as a feature element. Second, regional regulatory preference: a small number of markets (notably some Asian regulatory jurisdictions) have restrictions on aftermarket cabin lighting that interfaces with the OEM electrical system. The plain panel sidesteps the issue entirely.

Build and materials

  • Plate: 304 stainless steel, brushed finish, 2.5 mm thickness
  • Wordmark: "MANSORY" — fibre-laser-etched into the visible face, depth ~0.15 mm
  • Etch infill: two-pack epoxy infill, gloss black (signature) or paint-matched to a buyer-specified colour
  • Mount: 3M VHB structural double-sided tape, automotive-grade
  • Coverage: driver-side and passenger-side panels supplied as a matched pair
  • Power: none — purely passive trim, no electrical interface required
  • Optional: bespoke wordmark text (owner monogram or build number) on quote

Install procedure

Installation is simpler than the illuminated version because there is no electrical interface. The OEM door-sill scuff plate is removed (one M5 screw plus four push-clips per side), the new Mansory plate is bonded over the prepared sill area with the supplied 3M VHB tape, and the install is complete. Total time per car is 30-45 minutes for a competent detailer or trim specialist. The bond cures to full strength in 24 hours; we recommend leaving the doors closed during the cure window or limiting opening to gentle, low-angle closes.

Etch depth and infill behaviour over time

The 0.15 mm etch depth is calibrated against two competing concerns. Too shallow and the wordmark loses visual definition under cabin lighting and is invisible at glancing viewing angles; too deep and the etched cavity collects dust and shoe-debris over time, which then becomes a cleaning chore. 0.15 mm is the depth Mansory's bespoke team has settled on as the right compromise for a door-sill application that sees regular foot-traffic dust deposition. The two-pack epoxy infill is not the same chemistry as the lacquered paint used in some lower-cost aftermarket etched panels — epoxy resists the abrasive cleaning common at the door-sill area (where shoes occasionally drag across the sill during entry) while lacquer paint chips and fades within 18-24 months under the same conditions. The epoxy infill is rated for the donor car's full service life under normal cleaning practice.

When to specify paint-matched infill rather than gloss black

Gloss black is the signature spec and reads as the most universally coherent across cabin colour schemes. Paint-matched infill makes sense in two scenarios: when the cabin colour scheme is itself bespoke to a specific paint code (for example, cabin leather dyed to a one-off Mansory colour), and when the buyer wants the wordmark to read as a more deliberate visual statement rather than as a quiet brand marker. Mansory orange is the most-common paint-match request, followed by Ferrari Rosso for buyers who want to emphasise the donor car's marque rather than the modifier's. A paint-match infill adds 1-2 weeks to the lead time for the colour-matching step.

Visual reading from outside the car

The plain-etched panel reads as a high-end factory-spec door sill from outside the car — most observers will not register it as a bespoke addition, only as evidence of a well-maintained 296. From inside the car, with the door open and the courtesy lighting on the standard OEM scheme, the etched wordmark is clearly visible and identifiable. From inside the car at night with the courtesy lighting off, the wordmark recedes into the door-sill shadow and reads only on direct inspection. This visual behaviour is precisely what owners specifying this version typically want.

Pair with the matched Mansory Floor Mats, Pedal Pads and Driver Foot Rest for a coherent restrained-spec cabin upgrade. Order via WhatsApp +44 7488 818 747 or [email protected].

FAQ

Q: Can I add LED illumination later?
A: Yes, by upgrading to the illuminated panel SKU. The plain panel is removed, the courtesy-light circuit tap is made, and the new illuminated panel is bonded in place. Workshop time ~2 hours per car.

Q: Etch infill colour options?
A: Standard is gloss black. Paint-matched bespoke is available — common requests are Mansory orange, Ferrari Rosso, or a tan complement to the cabin leather.

Q: Is removal possible without damage?
A: The 3M VHB bond is permanent in design. Removal with heat and a plastic spudger is possible but may damage the OEM sill paint. We recommend keeping the panels in place once installed.

Q: Bespoke text — what's allowed?
A: Owner monogram, build number, fleet identifier, family crest, paint code reference. Trademarked third-party logos are not accepted without licence.

Q: Lead time?
A: 3-4 weeks. Bespoke text adds 1-2 weeks.
