Mansory Entrance Panels with Illuminated Logo — Ferrari 296 GTB

The Mansory Entrance Panels with Illuminated Logo for Ferrari 296 GTB are the door-sill bespoke marker in the Mansory cabin programme. Each panel is a brushed-stainless trim plate, dimensioned to fit precisely over the OEM 296 GTB door-sill area where the rocker panel meets the cabin floor. The panel carries an illuminated Mansory wordmark — white-LED backlit through a laser-cut wordmark slot, powered from the OEM door-courtesy-light circuit. Inside the wider Mansory Carbon Fiber Body Kit Set for Ferrari 296 GTB, this is the part that signs the build at the moment of cabin entry — the first piece of bespoke detail the driver sees on every drive.

Why illumination, not just etched

Two reasons. First, theatre: the courtesy-light delay timing on the 296 means the entrance panels illuminate as the door opens and remain lit for the standard 30-second OEM courtesy interval after door close. The illumination announces the build at every cabin entry. Second, low-light visibility: the panel sits on the door-sill, in shadow during night-time entry, and the LED illumination ensures the wordmark is visible regardless of ambient light. The plain-etched version of the same panel (sold as entrance panels with Mansory logo) is the daytime-only-visibility option for buyers who prefer a more restrained statement.

Build, materials and electrical interface

  • Plate: 304 stainless steel, brushed finish, 2.5 mm thickness
  • Wordmark: "MANSORY" — laser-cut through-aperture, 65 mm × 8 mm visible
  • Illumination: 4 × cool-white SMD LED per panel, behind a frosted polycarbonate diffuser
  • Power: direct splice into OEM door-courtesy-light circuit, fused at 0.5 A per panel
  • Mount: high-tack 3M VHB structural double-sided tape, automotive-grade
  • Coverage: driver-side and passenger-side panels supplied as a matched pair
  • Optional: bespoke wordmark text (owner monogram or build number) on quote

Install procedure

Installation requires removal of the OEM door-sill scuff plate (one M5 screw plus four push-clips per side), routing of the LED power wire to the OEM courtesy-light tap point inside the door-card aperture, splicing of the wire with the supplied insulation-displacement connector, and bonding of the new Mansory plate over the prepared door-sill area with the supplied 3M VHB tape. Total install time per car is 90-120 minutes for a competent installer. The supplied install card includes the OEM courtesy-light circuit reference and the recommended fuse position. We recommend installation at any Ferrari-authorised workshop or trim specialist.

Stainless grade, brush direction and finish quality

The choice of 304 stainless rather than the more common 430 stainless used in many aftermarket entrance-panel SKUs is a deliberate one. 304 stainless is the food-grade alloy used in OEM Ferrari interior brightwork — it does not rust under cabin moisture exposure, accepts the brushed grain consistently, and resists the staining that 430 stainless develops when exposed to leather-conditioner chemistry over time. The brush grain on the visible face runs longitudinally — front-to-back of the door sill — which is the direction that reads most cleanly under cabin lighting at any door-open angle. Cross-grain or random-direction brushing on lower-grade aftermarket panels reads as inconsistent under directional cabin lighting; the longitudinal grain on the Mansory panel reads as a single coherent surface from any viewing angle. The brush depth is calibrated for tactile smoothness — running a fingernail across the grain is silent and smooth, not catchy.

Why specify illuminated over plain

The illuminated version is the most-specified entrance-panel option for Mansory 296 GTB builds — roughly 80% of orders. The plain-etched version is preferred by buyers who view illuminated trim as overdone or who prefer a more restrained visual statement, and by buyers who plan to use the car in regular night-driving conditions where the LED illumination would compete with the cabin ambient lighting (which on the 296 GTB defaults to a relatively dim red-tone scheme). Most buyers ultimately specify the illuminated version because the moment-of-entry theatre is the part most owners value.

This panel pairs with the matched Mansory Individualized Interior, the Mansory Floor Mats and the Driver Foot Rest + Passenger Foot Rest for a coherent driver-zone re-trim. Order via WhatsApp +44 7488 818 747 or [email protected].

FAQ

Q: Will the LED affect the OEM door-courtesy-light circuit fuse?
A: No. The LED draws 0.5 A per panel, well within the OEM courtesy-light circuit margin. The supplied fuse is the recommended in-line protection.

Q: Can the LED colour be changed from cool white?
A: Yes, on quote. Warm white, amber and red are available. Cool white is the standard specification because it matches the OEM courtesy-light colour temperature.

Q: Is the bond removable?
A: The 3M VHB bond is rated for permanent automotive trim attachment. Removal is possible with heat and a plastic spudger but is non-trivial and may damage the OEM door-sill paint.

Q: Will this fit RHD and LHD cars equally?
A: Yes. The panel is symmetric across the cabin centreline; the LED wiring is supplied with sufficient lead length for either driver-side configuration.

Q: Lead time?
A: 4-5 weeks. Bespoke wordmark text adds 2 weeks for the laser-cut tooling.
