Mercedes has refined the G-Class for over 40 years, yet the visual formula remains the same: a box on four wheels. When those wheels are wrong, the entire car looks wrong. The Mercedes-Benz G-Class G63 AMG runs a hand-built AMG 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 585 hp. Its factory cast wheels weigh roughly 16-18 kg each, and they look exactly like what they are: mass-produced compromises. A set of bespoke forged wheels changes the car's visual weight distribution entirely, pulling attention to the contact patches where it belongs.
The Bete Noire Ver1.8 is a classic five-spoke layout reimagined with modern edge breaks and chamfered details. Each spoke is CNC-machined from a single billet of 6061-T6 forged aluminium, with tolerances measured in hundredths of a millimetre. The result is a wheel that is both lighter and stronger than any cast equivalent -- the kind of engineering that reveals itself in the details when you look closely, and in the driving dynamics when you stop looking at the wheel altogether.

The physics are straightforward: reduce the mass that your suspension has to manage, and everything improves. Ride quality gets better because the dampers respond to the road instead of fighting inertia. Braking distances shorten because the rotational inertia of each wheel drops significantly. The car feels more planted, more controlled, more connected.
The Bete Noire Ver1.8 is part of Hodoor's AI wheel design programme. The system generates thousands of unique wheel concepts, each one engineered to be manufacturable as a forged monoblock. You are not choosing from a static catalogue -- the AI produces designs tuned to a specific car's dimensions, brake clearances, and visual character. The design phase is free. You only pay when a concept moves into production.
If none of the AI-generated options match what you are after, our in-house designer works from hand sketches or reference images. Either route leads to the same CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet, the same quality control process, and the same four-to-eight-week production timeline.
Will 23-inch wheels affect the G63's ride quality?
Lighter forged wheels at 23" actually ride better than heavier cast wheels at the same size. The reduced unsprung mass allows the G63's adaptive dampers to respond more quickly to surface imperfections.
Can I use these on the older W463 G-Class or only the W463A?
Both the W463 (pre-2018) and W463A share the 5x130 bolt pattern and 84.1 mm centre bore. Offset varies slightly between generations -- contact us with your chassis number for exact fitment.
Are these wheels strong enough for off-road use?
Forged 6061-T6 aluminium is significantly stronger than cast. The aligned grain structure handles impacts, rocks, and rough terrain better than any cast wheel. That said, for serious rock crawling we recommend staying at 22" with a higher-profile tyre for maximum sidewall protection.
