When BMW engineered the M8 Competition, they gave it 625 hp but fitted it with cast aluminium wheels that weigh roughly 13 kg each. That is a lot of rotating mass for a car designed to cover ground quickly. Swap those castings for a set of forged monoblock rims and each corner loses around 3.5 kg. The result is faster brake response, quicker direction changes, and a suspension that works more effectively because it is controlling less weight at each wheel.
The Bete Noire Ver1.5 takes a split-spoke approach — pairs of slim spokes fan outward from the hub, creating a layered, three-dimensional look when viewed at an angle. The concavity is moderate, deep enough to add visual depth without making the wheel appear hollowed out. It is a design that works with the M8's long, low profile rather than fighting against it. In gloss black the spokes blend into dark brake rotors behind them. In brushed titanium the wheel becomes a focal point. Either way, the design complements builds running the AI M8 front bumper Ver3.3 or a fully stock body.

Staggered fitment is the sensible choice for the M8. The xDrive system sends up to 100% of torque rearward in Sport mode, so wider rear wheels give you a larger contact patch exactly where it matters most. This wheel was created through Hodoor's AI wheel design service. The algorithm generates over a thousand original designs per day, each one checked for structural integrity and CNC manufacturability before it reaches you. The design phase is free — you only commit financially when a design moves into production.
If none of the generated concepts feel right, our designer can develop something from scratch. The manufacturing process is identical either way: CNC-machined from a single billet of 6061-T6 aluminium, balanced, inspected, and finished to your specification.
Will the Ver1.5 fit an M850i or standard 8 Series?
Yes. The 8 Series platform shares the 5x112 bolt pattern and 66.6 mm centre bore across all variants — 840i, M850i, and M8. Offset may vary slightly depending on whether the car has M Sport brakes; contact us to confirm.
Is a staggered setup mandatory?
No. You can run a square setup (same width front and rear) if you prefer symmetrical tyre wear or plan to rotate tyres regularly. However, for maximum rear traction on a 625 hp car, staggered is the better choice.
What is the production lead time?
Four to eight weeks from design approval to delivery. Rush production is available on request for an additional fee. Learn more about choosing the right wheel size before you order.
