Audi SQ8 (4M) Tuning Guide 2026 — Body Kits, Wheels & Performance

The Audi SQ8 (4M) sits at an unusual intersection: it has the proportions of a luxury SUV, the platform of a Lamborghini Urus and the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that, in TFSI form, produces 507 hp. It is fast enough to embarrass sports cars and refined enough to carry four adults in near-silence. What it rarely does out of the factory is look the part. This guide covers every meaningful upgrade available for the SQ8 4M — body kits, wheels, performance and interior — and explains what actually works.

Platform Overview

The SQ8 4M rides on Volkswagen Group's MLB Evo architecture — the same platform used by the Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga and Porsche Cayenne. That shared DNA matters for tuning: parts and technical knowledge developed for one platform often transfer directly. The standard suspension uses air springs with adaptive dampers (PDCC on optioned cars), giving an unusually wide ride-height range to work with when specifying wheel fitment.

Body Kits for the Audi SQ8 (4M)

The SQ8's factory lines are conservative for a 500 hp vehicle. The aftermarket has responded with programmes ranging from subtle lip kits to full widebody conversions. The most respected options in 2026:

ABT Sportsline Aerodynamic Package — ABT's kit is the factory-adjacent choice. Front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and a discreet boot lid spoiler. Carbon or gloss black finish. Fits standard bodywork without any cutting. ABT also offer their Power S upgrade (600 hp from the TFSI engine) as a bundled package.

Lumma Design CLR 8 SQ — Lumma's wide body adds 40 mm per side via extended arch covers over a new front bumper, side skirt pods and rear apron. The stance change is substantial. CLR 8 SQ is TÜV-certified and approved for road registration in Germany, which matters if your car is EU-registered.

Prior Design PD8X — A full widebody conversion for the Q8/SQ8. Fender flares extend the body by 75 mm total (front and rear), allowing wheel options up to 10.5J wide at the front. Aggressive but not theatrical. Good fitment quality; available in fibreglass or carbon.

Mansory — For those who want maximum visual impact. Mansory's SQ8 programme includes full carbon bonnet, carbon front bumper with integrated canards, carbon roof and a rear wing. Weight saving from the carbon components is genuine — not just cosmetic. Not subtle, not meant to be.

TopCar Design Inferno — Russian outfit TopCar's Inferno kit is one of the most complete programmes for the SQ8: front bumper with LED DRL rework, carbon side skirts, rear diffuser with quad exhaust cutouts and a carbon rear spoiler. Popular in the GCC and Eastern Europe.

Wheels for the Audi SQ8 (4M)

Factory SQ8 wheels run 21 inches on most markets. The car accepts 22 and 23 inch fitments without any geometry issues on air suspension; 24s are possible but require careful offset selection and lower the suspension to its minimum for arch clearance. Tyre profiles below 35 section are not recommended for daily use given the ride quality trade-off.

Recommended wheel specifications for the SQ8 4M:

  • 22×10.5J ET25 — the most common street fitment. Fills arches without rubbing on standard suspension settings. Accommodates 295/35 R22 rear.
  • 23×10.5J ET20 — maximum size for standard bodywork. Requires careful tyre selection. Perfect fitment with Lumma CLR 8 SQ arch extensions.
  • 24×10.5J ET15 — widebody territory. Works with Prior Design PD8X and Mansory kits. Not recommended for stock arches.

Forged monoblock wheels — Vossen HF series, HRE P200, Brixton Forged M52 — are the right choice for a car this heavy (2,315 kg kerb weight). A set of forged 22s will save 12–18 kg of unsprung mass versus cast wheels, which has a measurable effect on the adaptive suspension's response speed.

Performance Upgrades

The 4.0 V8 TFSI in the SQ8 has substantial headroom. The same engine in the RS Q8, RS6 and Lamborghini Urus has been tuned to over 900 hp by specialists. Common first steps:

  • ECU remap (Stage 1): 580–620 hp, 880–920 Nm. No hardware changes required. ABT's Power S package delivers 600 hp with EU-legal documentation.
  • Exhaust system: Milltek, Akrapovič and REMUS all make valved systems for the SQ8. The factory exhaust is heavily muffled — a straight-pipe section behind the cats transforms the sound character entirely.
  • Intercooler upgrade: Relevant for high-power builds (Stage 2+) or cars used in hot climates (UAE, Australia). Reduces heat-soak under extended performance driving.
  • Stage 2: 680–720 hp, requires downpipes, intercooler and fuelling adjustments. Solid reliability record on the TFSI block at this level.

Interior Upgrades

The SQ8 interior is good from the factory but follows Audi's corporate template. Meaningful upgrades: full Alcantara headlining (reduces road noise reflection and changes the cabin character significantly), carbon fibre trim inserts replacing the factory wood or aluminium, and custom leather work on the door cards. Hodoor can source complete interior programmes from the same workshops that supply Mansory and TopCar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Lumma CLR 8 SQ body kit road-legal in Germany?
Yes. Lumma's CLR 8 SQ programme for the SQ8 carries TÜV approval, which is recognised across the EU. The kit ships with the necessary ABE documentation. Non-EU registrations typically have a simpler inspection process.

What wheel size is safest for daily use on the SQ8?
22×10.5J with 295/35 R22 at the rear and 265/35 R22 at the front is the practical sweet spot. It fills the arches correctly, maintains sidewall height adequate for road use and stays within the air suspension's comfortable operating range. Going to 23s is fine but you will notice the ride firm up, particularly on coarser road surfaces.

How much power can the stock TFSI engine handle reliably?
The consensus among long-running tuners (ABT, Revo, APR) places the safe limit for the stock block, gearbox and driveshafts at approximately 700–720 hp. Above that, gearbox internals become the limiting factor. Builds beyond 800 hp require gearbox reinforcement and upgraded axles.

Can Hodoor ship a body kit directly to my workshop?
Yes. Hodoor ships direct to addresses in 40+ countries. Most European destinations take 5–7 business days from Dubai. For large body kit parcels we use pallet freight with full insurance. Contact [email protected] with your shipping address for a DDP quote.
