An electric G-Class carrying 2,500 kg of battery and bodywork might seem like the last vehicle to benefit from saving a few kilograms per wheel. But unsprung mass operates on a different scale. It sits outside the suspension's control, and every gram of it amplifies road inputs before the air springs can respond. Lighter wheels mean better isolation, less tyre wear, and improved energy recovery during regenerative braking.
The Ver1.4 takes a split-five-spoke layout and adds deep channels between each pair. The result is a wheel with strong visual depth that works with the EQG's tall ride height. From ground level, the concavity is dramatic; at eye level, the structural rigidity is evident. Satin black with a machined face creates the kind of two-tone contrast that flatters large-diameter wheels.
| Bolt pattern | 5x130 |

| Width range | 9.5J front / 11J rear |
| Offset range | ET30 -- ET50 |
| Centre bore | 84.1 mm |
| Material | 6061-T6 forged aluminium |
| Weight | ~30% lighter than equivalent cast wheel |
Reducing unsprung mass on an EV directly translates to longer range and more responsive handling. The Bete Noire Ver1.4 is part of Hodoor's AI wheel design programme. The system generates thousands of unique wheel concepts, each one engineered to be manufacturable as a forged monoblock. You are not choosing from a static catalogue -- the AI produces designs tuned to a specific car's dimensions, brake clearances, and visual character. The design phase is free. You only pay when a concept moves into production.
If none of the AI-generated options hit the mark, our in-house designer works from hand sketches. Either route leads to the same CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet, the same balancing and inspection process, and the same four-to-eight-week production timeline. More detail on the manufacturing process is covered in our forged wheel performance guide.
Is the deep concave profile compatible with the EQG's brake package?
Yes. The concavity is in the outer portion of the face, well away from the caliper area. Brake clearance is maintained at all spoke positions.
How do I clean brake dust from deep concave wheels?
A long-handled, soft-bristled wheel brush reaches into the dish area. Use pH-neutral wheel cleaner -- avoid acidic products on bare machined surfaces.
Can I get different sizes front and rear on the EQG?
The EQG can run a square setup (same size all around) or a staggered configuration with wider rears. We confirm the optimal setup based on your suspension and tyre preferences.
